welcome! I’m Mary.

I had my son young, without a partner. I labored mostly alone, gave birth alone, and stayed in the hospital without a support person. I didn’t know then that I could have had a doula; I didn’t know there were other options for me. I have a deep sense of love and protection for laboring and birthing people because it’s such an intimate, vulnerable experience, and I know how lonely and scary it can feel. After having the privilege to birth with loved ones in my own life, I fell in love with creating this warm, nurturing space for families.

My son is 10, and I’m married to the world’s sweetest, most gentle partner. I’m currently a graduate student at Old Dominion University, studying Humanities. My personal research is in sexual assault, trauma, and feminist social justice. My absolute favorite things to do are travel and meet new people.
